Ahkka is one of the Swedish mountain world?s most impressive massifs, with peaks over 2,000 m.a.s.l. and tens of glaciers. The difference in altitude from the lake Ahkajavrre at the base of the mountain up to the highest peak is more than 1,500 metres. South-west of the massif, lower right in the photo, the remains of a river discharge are seen, with ice-locked terraces and kettles.
