Treriksröset, where Sweden, Norway and Finland meet, is located several metres out into Lake Golddajavri. It is not a cairn as the name says, but a moulded concrete foundation that was erected in 1926. The place is the world?s northernmost three country point. This is as far north as one can travel in Sweden, and west in Finland. It is a popular place for outings and many have walked around the cairn between the three countries. In the photo, we are in Finland looking towards Norway, with Sweden to our left. The border boundary towards Norway is seen in the birch forest, where the trees are in full bloom against the snow patches. This is where Sweden begins and our journey south over the Swedish mountains.
