Vasstenjavrre is the second largest lake in Padjelanta. Together with Virihavrre, these three lakes represent a major part of Padjelanta and parts of the western Sarek watershed. The lakes have their discharge into Ahkajavrre, which is a resevoir. This way, Padjelanta and Sarek contribute to Swedens energy supply even though no direct action to build hydroelectric power has occurred in these national parks. The mountains in the background are inside Sarek.
