At the end of June and beginning of July, the ice has recently broken up on Siddasjavri. The area west of Kebnekaise drains into this lake. This was the reason for the most recent, perhaps the last, major hydroelectric power project in the Swedish mountains. A tunnel that leads water down to the lake Áhkájávrre starts at the far end of Siddasjavri.
