Summer arrives late to Tarfala Darfal. Darfaljavri, farthest into the valley, was still covered with ice June 30 when the photo was taken. STF?s mountain hut is on this side of the lake, with the Tarfala Research Station on the opposite side, where glaciological research has been conducted since 1946. Storglaciären is seen to the left and just past it, a glimpse of Isfallsglaciären.
